The Linchpin of a Healthy Life

Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity.

― John F. Kennedy

This idea in this quote is by no means attributable only to President Kennedy. Indeed, it has been espoused for eons, by such Illuminati as Hippocrates and his ilk. Exercise - or, for that matter, any form of physical movement - is the linchpin of a healthy body and mind. Cutting calories is only scratching the surface. Exercise (body motion of all kind) is the nature of the animal, human and otherwise. We evolved through a series of physical morphing, NONE of which involved sitting on a couch and eating bon-bons. We walked, we foraged for our food, we fought, and otherwise moved ourselves. Motion is so critical to well-being that without it, there is none. It oxygenates the brain, making ideas and creativity more available. It oxygenates the muscles and increases blood flow, thereby helping to eliminate toxins and coursing nutrients to essential organs.

It is essential that we move as much as possible, preferably outdoors, preferably in the mornings, while the air is still clean and as a way of stimulating our bodies for our daily chores.
