Humans are known scientifically as homo erectus. That means that we have evolved to be upright, to walk upright, as opposed to our cousins, the apes, who typically walk on all fours.
This should provide ample evidence that we were not meant to sit all day. Indeed, the action - or rather, inaction - produced by this type of lifestyle as we all enjoy nowadays, leads to poor health from so many vantage points, including obesity which itself leads to diabetes, cancer, strokes, deep vein phlebitis, and early death.
As creatures designed to walk upright - the operative word here being walk - we should focus a good deal of our energy on doing just that. No need for special machines, gym memberships, or leotards. Just walk. And the best time to walk is early morning, while the air is still clean. Early morning is also the ideal time to energize your metabolism and begin the flow of endorphins, which sets you up for the entire day.
