When my husband returned from the doctor with the announcement that his cholesterol was high, we reviewed our diets to see if there was something we could correct without beginning medications. There was. Although we are both very healthy eaters, between the Mediterranean and Japanese cuisine, there was still too much red meat ingested, especially when we went to Golden Corral. So we decided to give it a try together; to focus on one month's worth of concerted attempt at eliminating saturated fats and other culprits, and see what happens.
I had been struggling with a sore knee for while, so it seemed an opportune time for me to join forces with my husband, and see whether a "clean" diet would get rid of a few pounds that may be aggravating my joints.
Three days into this program, and I can vouch for its ease, as well as satisfaction. We are depriving ourselves of nothing. We are focusing on plant-based foods, including breads, rice, all kinds of vegetables and fresh fruit; we eat tofu which is lean and clean; and we eat fish without including the cholesterol-rich crustaceans. Will it help? We'll see.
